embassey suites convention centre

Hi can any one tell me if this area is safe to walk in at night and if there are many reastaraunts near by

Well, the older convention center in DC is directly across the street. This area basically shuts down at night not too many people walking around. The other convention center is walking distance and not much going on at night directly near there either.

I would say it%26#39;s safe just use common sense as you would anywhere in the world after hours. No walking alone with pocket books or wallets after just leaving an ATM machine. If someone asks for directions or change, probably not the best thing to do is dig in your purse and try to help out.

There are some restaurants in the Chinatown area and there are a lot others just depending on what you like.

I thought there were quite a few restaurants in the area. We walked to Zeytania';s and Ella';s Wood Fired Pizza, and there seemed to be a lot in that area. I went on the convention center webiste and they have a list of restaurants in the area and then i looked some of them up. The area seemed safe . Always look around you as you would in any large city. Have fun. Liked embassy suites alot.

I work down here and there is a lot to do even at night.

Verizon center to check out a sporting event or concert

There is a bowling alley next to the Verizon center

Tons of places to eat. Everthing from McDs to:

Zaytinya - Med tappas very good

Jaleo - Spanish tappas, also good

Ella%26#39;s

Matchbox

Aoli sushi

Capital City brewery

Poste in the Hotel Monaco (best french fries on the planet)

Fudruckers

Chipotle

Zengo

Fado Irish pub

The Spy Museum is down here but closes around 5

The area is very safe during normal hours. Walk around at 1 am with a fist full of fifties and you%26#39;ll get mugged in any city.

You%26#39;ll have a great time
