Any outdoor concerts/events on the weekend?

My boyfriend and I will be spending a weekend 08/25-08/28 in Washington, DC and was wondering if there are any outdoor events or concerts taking place during that time. I am looking for some fun things to do during the day other than sightseeing. Also any ideas of what to do in the evenings will be appreciated. Thank you.

Any outdoor concerts/events on the weekend?

Hi:

Your best bet for up to date info is:

www.washingtonpost.com then click on City Guide and you can find all kinds of events.

To give you a few ideas:

Friday night - Jazz in the Garden (free) - National Gallery of Art Sculpture Garden and Ice Skating Rink - 700 Constitution Ave. NW from 5 - 8:30 pm

If you%26#39;re here early around lunch time Fri or Mon, there%26#39;s Live on Woodrow Wilson Plaza (free) - 1300 Pennsylvania Ave. NW, Washington, DC from 12-1:30 pm

There are plenty of indoor music events as well.

I see you%26#39;re from California - DC United is playing the LA Galaxy at 7:30 pm on Saturday 8/26.

Ford%26#39;s Theater is having an open house 8/26 from 10 am - 3 pm. You can get a tour backstage, etc. (free) - 511 10th St. NW

There%26#39;s a poetry festival at Carter Barron Amphitheater on 8/27 from 1:00 pm (free) - 4850 Colorado Ave. NW

Depending on what kind of music you like, there are lots of options for live music indoors (Black Cat, HR-57, etc.)

Another idea for during the day is Easter Market on the weekend mornings. www.easternmarket.net. Fun place.

Have fun!
