advice for seniors

In-laws are going for a wedding and staying at the Metro Marriot. They are in their eighties and pretty active. We want to set them up with a nice lunch or passes to a nearby decent attraction -in the fifty dollar area. They don%26#39;t drink and are not ';big'; eaters. Any ideas for a nice surprise? Thanks!!

I%26#39;m not 100% sure if this is what you%26#39;re looking for--but I%26#39;ve always enjoyed the $17.89 ';Revolutionary Brunch'; at the French restaurant Les Halles. You can check out their website and menus here: http://www.leshalles.net/washington.php

It is in the same neighborhood as your parents%26#39; hotel.

Thanks, but I doubt they%26#39;d eat that much. I saw a trolley tour, where you can get on and off all day. It sounds like an idea? Any info, esp. on safety issues. I do appreciate!

One of the trolley tours is a great idea. Old Town Trolley and Tourmobile seem to be the most popular. You may also want to consider the Monuments by Moonlight tour, but your parents%26#39; evenings are probably booked up with wedding events...

Since you know the hotel they are staying at, you might want to call the concierge and see if the hotel offers free tour passes. Usually the concierges get Tourmobile and Old Town Trolly passes that they can comp to guests. They might also have other ideas in terms of tour stuff that picks up at the hotel or near it.

Thanks all!! I got them the day trolley trip. Didn%26#39;t check with the hotel first, but will advise mom and pops to. Great advice!
