Flying into Reagan Sept 21-24. Is there a airport shuttle that is worthwhile, or is a cab to city (staying at Washington Court Hotel)the best bet?
Airport Shuttle?
IMO, if you don%26#39;t want to use Metro, then a cab is your best bet.
Airport Shuttle?
Sorry for being such a rookie, but my last trip to DC was in 1978; so I do not know what ';Metro'; means...subway or train? How close will it get me to my hotel?
Taxi fare would run you about $15 from National to Capitol Hill where your hotel is located. You could take the subway (Metro) to Union Station and walk a couple of blocks, but you%26#39;d have to transfer trains and presumably deal with luggage.
Since you%26#39;re not familiar with things, I think the $15 (estimate, plus tip) for the taxi would be money well spent. You ';could'; take an airport shuttle but I think the price would be about the same as a taxi and you%26#39;d more than likely make other stops along the way.
The Metro is a great option for getting around, you may want to familiarize yourself with it even if you don%26#39;t use it for airport transportation:

great info..thanks
Agree that a cab is the best thing for you.
Oh, and Washington Court Hotel is a beautiful hotel. Call them to see if they have a shuttle service. I work across the street and I see these vans that are always parked right outside.
Have to try Bistro 525 while at the Washington Court. Their food is good. Try their crab cakes, caesar salad with shrimp, crab bisque soup and other things there as well but a nice little place.
Also Bistro Bis is in this area and they are excellent.
