We have reservations for a self-guided tour at the National Archives on Friday at 12:30. How much time should we give ourselves to look around, and where would you recommend eating afterwards for a late lunch? I read about a Tapas place nearby (any good?)? I think we%26#39;ll be using the circulator, so any restaurant along the redline route would work best.
We%26#39;re hoping to make a stop at the Spy Museum after our late lunch. They close at 6pm Friday. How much time is needed at that museum? Thanks!
How much time at Archives? Where to eat?Hi:
The Archives website recommends allotting about 90 minutes.
For lunch, I%26#39;d head toward the Spy Museum. There are several options in that neighborhood. I%26#39;d recommend:
Teaism (8th and D, NW) - tea, bento boxes, small plates
Zaytinya (9th and G, NW) - mezzes (i.e. tapas)
Jaleo (7th and E, NW) - tapas
Matchbox (8th and H, NW) - pizzas/mini burgers (mmmm)
The Spy Museum website says average visit time is about 2 hours.
Have fun!
How much time at Archives? Where to eat? Thanks for the recommendations, Mopsydog!
If you plan to visit the Spy Museum, you may want to buy tickets in advance. Despite the fact that it gets very mixed reviews, it is often sold out well before the end of the day. At least try to get tickets that morning. Also, I think the museum can be seen way less than 2 hours.
