It really depends on what you want/need?
Affordable place inside or outside (more likely) the city
Look in Crystal City, Va for one of the major chains. Three metro stops outside DC. Takes 10 minutes to get to Smithsonian.
or
Great location close to nightlife, food, landmarks, metro
Jury%26#39;s Dupont Circle
or
Absolutely swank, I have buckets of money and don%26#39;t know what to do with it.
Mayflower, Mandarin or Four Seasons
just started any help please
I habitually recommend Holiday Inn Capitol (550 C Street SW, http://www.holidayinncapitol.com/). It is ideally located for most of the major museums and attractions, and also for the Metrorail (our “Underground”). The main caveat, universally acknowledged, is that the immediate neighborhood is safe but a total yawner. It’s populated by thousands of government workers during the day, by 200 pigeons in the evening. You’ll need to use Metro to go out for dinner, but that’s easily done.
There are some really great DC hotels.
I worked in the downtown area and can tell you that
there are a lot of good choices
If i was going for a few days i would either try
www.HIontheHill.com (Holiday Inn - Not your average H-Inn either)
The Madison Hotel on 15th street. (a part of Loews hotels i think)
and for elegance, peace, ect. try the Jefferson
www.TheJeffersonWashingtonDC.com
happy travels
