Hello.
Our family of 5 is headed to DC the second weekend in April. We have reservations at the Four Seasons which is usually our first choice as hotel chains go. I%26#39;ve read a lot of negative reviews regarding this particular hotel. Does anyone know if the renovations are finished? If not, what hotel would you recommend? We would like to stay with the choices within the Am Ex Platinum travel service. (Mandarin Oriental, Ritz-Carlton Georgetown, Willard, Hays-Adams, St.Regis, Park Hyatt)
Thank you.
Luxury Hotel in DC
I%26#39;d say Hay Adams as the best combination of quality and location; Mandarin Oriental best if you%26#39;re not planning to leave the hotel or will have a car service. (it%26#39;s just not in an interesting place)
But reading some of the negative reviews of the 4S, it seems some of them are just bothered they got rid of the old (not very good) restaurant and other public areas. And some of them just sounded fake to me. You might find it to be just fine, especially if you call in advance and tell them of your concerns (and your loyalty to the chain). They%26#39;ll probably put a note in the computer to treat you extra nice.
