Earlier morning activities

Hi Everyone

My husband and I will be joining the crowds of tourists coming to town for the Cherry Blossom Festival. I have been working on our itinerary and have found many great things to do. I have noticed that MOST museums, attractions, tours begin operating at 10:00ish. Does anyone have any information on tours/attractions/activities that can begin as early as 7:00/8:00 or 9:00?

I know the National Zoo grounds can be walked (though we will miss some of the ';housed'; exhibits). I see that Washington Photo Safaris can be done at 6:15 am. Any information on other activities would be greatly appreciated. We are staying at the Washington Marriott near Dupont Circle.

Thanks in advance for any help!!

Earlier morning activities

The Newseum opens at 9. White House tours are early--ours was at 7:30--but it has to be arranged through your Senator or representative and they do not take place on certain days. Capitol tours (which can be booked online) start around 8:50.

Earlier morning activities

Early morning is a great time to see the Cherry Blossoms and the Monuments. Less crowds and quite peaceful.

Arlington National Cemetery opens at 8 am.

The monuments are open 24/7.

Mount Vernon opens at 8:00 am in April.
