Which airport?

To be closer to the center of things, which airport should we use -Dulles, Reagan or??

Which airport?

Reagan.

Which airport?

Thanks! It%26#39;s always amazing how quickly we can get answers on these posts. God bless the internet!

Keep in mind that sometimes you can save several hundred dollars by flying into BWI or IAD. And then use some of that money to pay for transportation into the city from the airport. But Reagan National (DCA) is by far the most convenient.

What%26#39;s b w i?

BWI not b w i

Baltimore Washington International

hey Doreen

I%26#39;m going in june,Cost wise in the northeast is better from Providence RI to bwi.Bus to metro and short walk to hotel in downtown DC. This website and all that use it are a ton of info. Bob

A) I wrote bwi (lower case) because reply doesn%26#39;t let you use all caps. Probably thinks I am trying to spam.

B) Thanks, Bob. Last year when I planned our three weeks to Europe, Rick Steves%26#39; Website was invaluable.

A lot of times that cost savings for flying into BWI or IAD is quickly eaten up by taking taxis, or lost opportunities in the hours in transit you have to spend.

DCA (Reagan) is so fast and simple to get to, that it%26#39;s a big winner unless the ticket cost delta is significant. That said, if you%26#39;re flying from Fresno, it%26#39;s probably impossible to fly nonstop into DCA.

Flying direct from Fresno means switching in LA or SF - it%26#39;s about half way in between and just a few hours drive either direction. We have friends in LA and SF, since SF was our home, and so that%26#39;s what we usually do.

Yea, I discovered on our trip to Europe last year that spending a little more for the convenience of landing and staying closer to the action is definitely worth it when you consider time lost in shuttling to city centers, sights, etc.

Sounds like Reagan is the winner (can%26#39;t believe I said that). Thanks y%26#39;all

';Sounds like Reagan is the winner (can%26#39;t believe I said that).';

Then do what the locals do, and call it ';National';!
