How long is the Capitol Tour??

I%26#39;m trying to decide on which time to pick. I couldn%26#39;t find any info on their site about how long each tour lasts. Figured someone here would know ;o)

How long is the Capitol Tour??

The actual tour itself was approximately an hour. One caveat though, you are put in groups of 25 in order to go through security. We had a 9:30 tour but it did not start until 9:40 which begins with the movie. Because it was so crowded with school groups last week, we weren%26#39;t able to see the entire tour because one section is treated like a museum, so if it really busy they can eliminate that portion of the tour. However, we did have the option of gallery tickets so that could add time onto your visit as well.

Hope that helps

Thank you!

Ok so now that I know its an hour long would it be stupid to attempt something like that with an 18 month old? I know he won%26#39;t appreciate it at his age, but we aren%26#39;t going for him ;o)

There were plenty of babies and toddlers there, usually in a stroller, so you wouldn%26#39;t be out of place.

Are you booking this through your Rep or Senator or through the Capitol itself. We did it with our Rep (have to email by filling in form in advance) and there were only the two of us. We hadn%26#39;t heard from our Rep so the day we got there the Capitol tour office recommended we check with our rep rather than wait in line (it was long in Oct). We called and got in that day. We were lucky. You might want to check though.

I emailed our rep and asked about it. Am still waiting to hear back. There are times available for a tour while we are up there through the Capitol but they are all around noon, would actually like something either earlier or later than that.
