It isn%26#39;t a long walk along Connecticut Avenue, probably 20-30 minutes. The first part is the Chinese Embassy and some grand old apartment buildings. Then you get to the upper end of the Dupont Circle business district with hotels, restaurants and stores. Be sure to look over the railing as you cross the bridge to see the Park Service horses and Rock Creek.

Or you can walk across the other bridge on Calvert Street to Adams Morgan, which is also an interesting neighborhood.

Staying there in September, thanks ruleofthumb think I will take the walk now as well, sounds far more interesting than the metro.
