looking for top notch hotel on Metro line - outside of city

Hi everyone - we are a family of five traveling in late April. Very few hotels in the City sleep five in a room. We are looking for a very nice hotel just outside of city and very close to or right on the Metro line. We have JW Marriott reservations now for Downtown but want to try to save some money by staying just outside of city, in same calibur of hotel though. Any thoughts??

Search in Arlington via zip 22202. The Crystal City and Pentagon City parts of Arlington are right over the river in Virginia and are around 8 - 14 mins via Metro into the tourist parts of DC. Below are links to maps with hotels and their proximity to metro. Click on red boxes for hotel info.

Two Marriotts, Hampton Inn, and Embassy Suites might meet your requirements. There is a Marriott Courtyard in Crystal City, but it is a little bit of a hike, but they do have free shuttle.

Pentagon City

Residence Inn could be a good choice.

The Rosslyn area is a similar area to search on. Again, just over the river but more on the Georgetown side of DC. Another excellent location.

Crystal City, Pentagon City, and Rosslyn areas are safe, offer lots of restaurants near by, and often less expensive hotels. But, with that said if you can find something IN DC (in a good location), I would choose that.

Also check the Westin in Ballston. It is top notch.

I was focused on suite%26#39;s for the sleeping five requirement. Also check out the Palomar in Rosslyn. Very nice.

No one has mentioned the Ritz Carlton at Pentagon City. I don%26#39;t know if they have suites or not, but it should be a nice hotel. ritzcarlton.com/en/鈥efault.htm
