I was wondering if anyone had any information or insights on traveling between Washington and Philadelphia. A group of us are taking a long weekend vacation and would like to hit both places. I%26#39;ve heard traffic can be murder between those two cities, though. Does anyone have any ideas on how long the 140 miles usually takes? How much it can vary? Alternatively, does anyone know if there are good mass transit options that are reasonably quick that aren%26#39;t too expensive (since there are going to be 7 or 8 of us)? I have seen that Amtrak would cost over $100 per person which would be a little steep. Thanks for your help.

Driving from DC to Philadelphia---depending on traffic---can take about 3 hours, give or take. We%26#39;ve done the drive before. If you don%26#39;t want to drive, have you looked into taking Greyhound? www.greyhound.com
BTW, in addition to great cheesesteak, you can also find some great Italian food in Philadelphia!
