where should a group of 40yo couples hang out at night

We are a group of 40 somethings that like to go out and have fun at night. We don%26#39;t want to be at a frat party but want to either see some good music or hear a DJ that plays rock and maybe some dance music.

Any ideas? which areas should we go to at night. will be a friday and saturday night

how is georgetown for our age group on a saturday night?

Personally, Georgetown wouldn%26#39;t be my first choice for your age group. I%26#39;d recommend the U Street area. There are lots of great places. Check out who%26#39;s playing at the Black Cat, DC9 or Velvet Lounge while you%26#39;re here.(You can see events at www.washingtonpost.com and look in the Going Out Guide section.) Cafe Saint Ex is also a good option for a DJ.

Penn Quarter neighboorhood would also rank higher than Georgetown (in my opinion). If the weather is nice you could walk from the Willard.

Also, you might want to check out the H Street/Atlas District. It%26#39;s still sketchy late at night, but there are some good venues there like Rock and Roll Hotel and the Red and the Black.
