Is Good Friday 4/10 considered Federal Holiday for free park

Free parking on Federal Holidays and weekends, but I%26#39;m wondering if 4/10 considered a Federal Holiday in DC? Please advise. What%26#39;s the time range for Free Weekend Parking? I read somewhere it%26#39;s 6pm Friday to 6am Monday? Thanks.

No. Good Friday is absolutely not a Federal holiday.

Free parking where? Depends where you are parking as to what the parking rules are.

Here are the federal holidays:

Christmas is the only religiously-associated holiday that is a federal holiday.

Yes all metro parking lots are free on the weekends. Regarding the time frame you need to check out metro%26#39;s website at www.wmata.com as I think it may vary depending on station.

What everyone is overlooking is that D.C. street parking is controlled by the LOCAL government--the D.C. Department of Public Works. D.C. has its own set of holidays that (with one notable exception) happen to coincide with Federal holidays. Since D.C. DPW is the authority that writes the tickets, you need to use their holiday calendar.

So Friday, April 10 isn%26#39;t a free parking holiday. But Thursday, April 16, as D.C. Emancipation Day, is a free parking holiday as the meter guys take the day off.

That%26#39;s right, there%26#39;s free, unrestricted street parking at metered spaces on Thursday, April 16. Raise your hand if you knew about this.

But note that there are unmetered free spaces in the Mall/Memorial areas that fall under the control of Park Police. They don%26#39;t have the day off on 4/16, and you could find yourself ticketed by violating the time limits posted (usually three hours).
