Different hotel by the Willard

My husband frequently stays at the Willard while in DC for work. We will be bringing our two sons 7 %26amp; 11 to DC for their first trip this summer. My husband wants to stay at the Willard due to the great location. However, after looking at it online I think a place that is a little more kid friendly might be a better choice. Are there any other hotels in that same location that have a pool or are a little less formal? Thanks

The JW Marriott across the street has a pool. And would appear to me to be less formal. I do not know how kid friendly it is.

Are there any Embassy Suites nearby?

The closest Embassy Suites is probably the one near the Convertion Center at 10th and K Streets. Still downtown but several blocks further north and 4 blocks further east.

There is also the Marriott Metro Center just two blocks from the Willard. It is also directly above Metro Center subway stop, a major transfer station so taking the metro from that location is a piece of cake.

Then, also not too far is the Marriott Courtyard at 9th and F. Directly across the street from The Spy Museum.
