Marriott at Metro Center

I just reserved the Marriott at Metro Center for the middle of April for 3 families. Just looking for input as to whether I made the right choice. We are looking to be an area good for sightseeing. I know the metro is there but will we be able to walk to any sights? Any other suggestions of hotels that are in the same price range and quality as the Marriott at Metro Center? Thanks for your input!

Marriott at Metro Center

Remember that the sights of Washington are so spread out that there%26#39;s no one perfect location that%26#39;s close to everything a typical tourist wants to see.

That having been said, there are other hotels a few blocks closer to the Mall attractions, monuments and White House. But those few extra blocks can be made up on foot in about five minutes.

So unless your mobility is an issue, you%26#39;re fine just staying put at the MMC. Being right at the Metro, as you mentioned, is a nice plus as well.

Marriott at Metro Center

I also booked the Marriott at metro center for a trip in May. After reading many reviews and weighing my options it seems like a great fit for us. It is close enough to walk to many different attractions but also right next to a metro. So it gives you an option.

I also have been starting to look at restaurants near by and it seems like there is a lot to choose from.

The other hotel I was looking at was the JW Marriott which is even closer. It was a little bit more in price, but I decided that the Marriott metro center was better all around, even if its not right next door to all the attractions. And I can use that extra cash for something else.

I think its going to be a great hotel!!!

Since I%26#39;ll be there in April, I%26#39;ll let give a trip report when I return and let you know how it was. Hopefully, we both made the right choice!

Good Choice. I work just a block from there and know the area.

You are directly above the metro. Many of the sites are withi walkings distance: The White House, National Museum of Women in the Arts, Chinatown, Verison Center, Spy Museum, Crime and Punishment Museum, Nuseum, Old Post Office building with it%26#39;s great view from the clock tower and even several of the Smisonian Institutions Museums.

Many, many good restaurants, plus several good food courts, which are always popular with kids.

I stayed there last Saturday (3-14-2009). I thought the location was great. An easy walk to the Mall and many restaurants. The Metro is right at the hotel.

The hotel itself was very nice.

I think you made a good choice.
