washington dc with 16 yr old son

We%26#39;re traveling to DC in mid April with our 16 yr old son. Any suggestion on ';fun'; things to do at night with a 16 yr old where we won%26#39;t end up in jail?

Walk around Georgetown one night, Penn Quarter another. See the Lincoln Memorial, Korean Memorial and Vietnam Wall, and other memorials on another.

If he skateboards, there are a lot of teens who hang out at Freedom Plaza every evening (in front of National Theater) doing their stunts. Except for their skateboarding antics, I%26#39;ve never heard of any other trouble from them, and I work just at the corner.

Book an evening Segway tour of D.C. The minimum age for these tours is 16, so he%26#39;s old enough. We did this last summer with our 17-year-old son and we all had a blast. (He was doing ';donuts'; on his Segway in front of the Capitol!) Note: You do have to wear a helmet, so if he will balk at that, then you%26#39;ll have to opt for something else.

-ESPNZone

-Lucky Strike Bowling: Note that the age is 21 after I believe 9pm or so just go to their website to find out.

-There is also a Movie Theater in Gallery Place near Lucky Strike

-Walking around Georgetown

-Taking the subway to Pentagon City Mall which is just a few stations outside of DC in Virginia

All of these are great suggestions. Where are you staying and what is your teen interested in? If he is a music lover you might want to check out the 9:30 Club or Blues Alley.
