I understand that both the senator and house representative of our state can arrange white house tour reservations. I was just wondering if contacting BOTH the senator and the house representative of our state would be an advantage or disadvantage or neither to secure a white house tour.
What would be the best plan--contact one or both to get the tour?
more than one contact needed for white house tour?I have been checking on my reservation that I made in Jan for April. I made the request online via my senator%26#39;s website. I was told by the senator%26#39;s staff the requests get routed to the white house database. Since there is one central system I figured it is smart enough to figure out if records with same name/state/number of tickets/date request and matching senator/house combos are duplicates and goes with the one it first received.
The staff they can tell if the request was successfully submitted and then they wait for a response. They have no access to the datebase and can%26#39;t tell availiability. Confirmation is not given until 2 weeks before the request date due to frequent blackouts for diplomat visits, security, etc. It does make planning the trip more challenging. Not to mention it is the #1 thing my kid wants to do. We may end up just at the vistor%26#39;s center.
more than one contact needed for white house tour?Don%26#39;t know if the system has changed or not since we got the White House tour about 2 years ago. I called ALL of our Congressmen and Senators (in the State) and got put on all their lists (at least the ones who would talk to me since I wasn%26#39;t one of their constituants). It worked out well. Got tickets for all 8 people in our party. Good luck. It%26#39;s well worth the effort.
I contacted both my Senator and Representative. Because this is a new administration and the issues they are dealing with, you probably won%26#39;t hear about the tour until a week before the date you requested. My advice is to submit to your representatives and keep following up with the tour coordinator.
Good luck.
