Hi everyone! I%26#39;m working on our itinerary for our trip next month. I would love to go to Arlington especially to see the changing of the guards and the eternal flame. Is there a better time of day to see Arlington?
Best time of day for Arlington Cemetery??
We were there in late afternoon and I would suggest earlier in the day. There were shadows on the soldiers so the pics were okay but not wonderful.
Best time of day for Arlington Cemetery??
How long does it take to visit, do they have any facilities, restrooms etc?
thanks
Yes, there are restrooms in the visitors%26#39; center. They offer bus tours around the cemetery, or you may walk all around. The changing of the guard is well worth seeing. This site will give you more info:

The bus tour is offered through Tourmobile and costs $7.50 for adults and $3.75 for children. You can check out the details of the tour at http://www.tourmobile.com/tours_arlington.php
Since Arlington Cemetery is a hilly place, you may especially want to take the bus tour if you have mobility problems or young children. I took it many years ago (even though I had neither mobility problems nor children) and enjoyed the commentary provided along with the tour. I saw and learned things I might have missed had I been going around on my own.
Thanks longhorn, I was a bit rushed and did not take the time to look up the link :-)
The cemetery was covered with snow when we were there and was incredibly beauitiful. Will work on getting the pics up on my review within a day or two.
We decided to walk the Cemetery this morning, and saw the three major sites in less than two hours at a casual pace (President Kennedy%26#39;s gravesite, Arlington House, and the Changing of the Guard Ceremony at the Tomb of the Unknown Solider).
It is very hilly, so it you can%26#39;t or prefer not to walk it all, take the Tourmobile instead.
