Well hello everyone,
Someone from my Embassy recently advised me on safety in Washington D.C. Because I am spending one week in D.C in a couple of weeks (all by myself), I am wondering if there are any hot spots I should avoid. Thank you for any kind of advice.

Pretty much stay in the area wherever your hotel is and the tourist attractions. Downtown is pretty much safe all of the time. Just don%26#39;t do anything stupid like walk to an ATM at night and carry the hundreds of dollars in cash in your hand and that%26#39;s anywhere in the world you shouldn%26#39;t do that.
Downtown DC including the mall area, chinatown, etc. are all safe.
Northern VA is even safer.
Only hot spots I can think of, you probably won%26#39;t be going anywhere near there anyway.
