Restaurants - Recommendations please

Looking for some input on restaurants for the following areas.

Dupont Circle - Dinner Friday %26amp; Saturday Nights Already know about following

Bistrot du Coin - sounds good

Mimi%26#39;s - so so reviews

Lebanese Taverna - sounds interesting

Nora Restaurant - Is it as good as it sounds?

Comments on the above plus other suggestions

Mall area - Lunch - Saturday - Seafood for crab cakes, lobster rolls would be nice. I know Legal Seafood is on 7th but might be a bit to much of a walk, something closer down to the mall even if not seafood would be better.

Restaurants - Recommendations please

I ate at Nora about 5 years ago and it was fabulous. It was very unusual. Almost everything is organic and creative. It do recall it being pretty expensive (entrees hovered around the $30+ dollar range) but a good splurge. hope this helps!

mayan06: I would say you%26#39;ve done your homework very well.

I am not an expert on DC--I%26#39;m simply in the process of planning my first trip there. I%26#39;ve read a lot of restaurant reviews, and Bistrot du Coin definitely has received a lot of favorable press, although moreso for lunch than dinner. Along with Nora, these both appear to be excellent choices for your two meals. And they appear to be on opposite ends of the spectrum, as far as atmosphere goes. Bistrot is rambunctious, Nora is sedate.

But in case you are still looking for more choices, here is the “Best of 2006” list from the Washingtonian:

You can click on Dupont Circle, or scroll down the page to Dupont Circle.

Komi and Obelisk seem to be the top two--they have also received rave reviews from other publications. Personally, everything I have read about Komi sounds very appealing.

As far as the Mall for lunch goes, the one restaurant that seems to be the ';hottest'; place in DC, is Cafe Atlantico. It%26#39;s just north of the Mall, at 8th %26amp; D. Just walk north from the mall on 7th or 9th and then take D to get to 8th.

But again, your first choice of Legal Seafood sounds like the best choice, if the reviews mean anything. And why walk? Just hop on the MetroRail at Pennsylvania %26amp; 7th (Archives/Navy Mem/Penn Qtr Station), and let it cart you up the green or yellow line north to Gallery Place/Chinatown Station. Legal Seafood is right across the street from the 7th %26amp; H Street exit.
