For fun you would like the Adams Morgan area- so much nightlife. Just walk up and down the street and you will find something for everyone. You would also like Georgetown at night and during the day when you can shop and walk around.
Just some suggestions, much, much, much more just a few.
Hi, moon -- here are 2 threads which you might find helpful:

For a truly different touring option, how about a tour by Segway? City Segway offers both daytime %26amp; evening tours, and everyone I know who has done of these (whether in DC or elsewhere) thinks it was fabulous

Also, the Capital Steps -- a well-known political satire troupe -- performs every Friday %26amp; Saturday. They skewer politicos of both parties and current events both here %26amp; abroad; usually very clever songs, great performers. The shows start early -- at 7:30 PM -- so you%26#39;ll still have lots of time to go elsewhere afterwards.
