I just booked this trip for DC last week and am leaving in two days (my husband will be there on business and I am going to sightsee while he is working). Will it be difficult to get a tour of the BEP? I know it is too late to do anything through my Congressman. How early would I need to get in line to get a ticket for a public tour?
visiting the BEPYou should be able to find the answer to your questions and more info on the BEP tours in previous postings in this forum. Enjoy your visit, and buy some uncut dollar bills on your way out! :-)
visiting the BEPHere is the BEP website--
www.bep.treas.gov/locations/section.cfm/20/21
No reservations, or letters from Congressmen are needed. It looks like tours take about 45 minutes, and are offered every fifteen minutes between 9-10:45 %26amp; 12:30-2:00. No tickets are required at this time of year--just line up and go!
Be sure to check the rules and regulations carefully--the BEP is a high security place, so cameras, backpacks, etc may not be allowed.
