Working at the USPTO, where to live temporarily and permanen

Single, will make the move in early Nov 2006.....need to find a place to rent on a temp. basis and then find an apartment, carless is all this even reasonable?

Thanks,

Totally reasonable. Your office will be walkable to a Metro stop, so all you need to dois pull out a Metro map and start searching Craigslist for rentals near stops on your line (Blue or Yellow). When you anrrow it down a little, post back and we%26#39;ll give opinions on how convenient the neighborhoods are to things like grocery stores.

It is not impossible, but I would have a solid back up plan. Not many places are available for shor term rental, and those that are usually gouge you. You may be better off spending some time around the area before you move and find a place. That way you will only have to move once and you may come out a head by not having to pay outrageous short term rental prices.

The PTO%26#39;s near the King Street metro on the blue and yellow lines, right at the edge of Old Town Alexandrai. There is plenty of housing in the area, but I%26#39;m unsure of short term leasing. Try craigslist - I%26#39;ve found my last few rentals on there.

PTO still has buildings in crystal city although most employees are at Carlysle. Make sure you know what building you are going to be working in before decide on where you are going to live.
