Hotel Recommendation Nov 8 & 9

Mom %26amp; 8 yo son traveling on above dates. Would like hotel to be accessible to Metro. Would like to have heated indoor pool and would prefer continental breakfast included. Want it to be clean and safe. Tried to search independently and was frightened away because many reviews said they were not clean. I am despareately in need of assistance! Thank you in advance.

Have you considered trying to bid for a room using one of the discount websites such as Priceline? For more info: www.betterbidding.com

HI, CATHY -- I%26#39;m seeing little availability for those dates in anywhere close to your price range in a place I think you%26#39;d find geographically acceptable, clean, and safe. The best possibility, I think, would be the Virginian Suites in Arlington, VA -- available for $139/night (before taxes) via quikbook.com. No indoor pool and it appears breakfast would not be included, but you%26#39;d have to spend much more money to get those amenities at this time of year (especially since indoor pools are not a common feature of hotels in the DC area); the Virginian Suites -- which come with kitchens -- gets decent reviews here at TA and it%26#39;s in a good-enough location:

As of this moment, Hotwire is offering rooms for those dates in what they say is a 4* establishment in the Dupont Circle neighborhood for $110/night (again before taxes are added in). My hunch is that%26#39;s for either the Hilton Washington at 1919 Connecticut Ave. or the Hilton Embassy Row at 2015 Mass. Ave. Neither one is what I would call a true 4* establishment but close to the Dupont Circle Metro stop and in a very safe, convenient neighborhood with variety of shops %26amp; restaurants . Or the hotel could end up being the Omni Shoreham -- which is not truly in the Dupont Circle neighborhood, but a bit further up Conn. Ave. in Woodley Park, by the National Zoo. A good hotel in a nice, more residential neighbhorhood practically on top of a Metro station with a cluster of restaurants outside the hotel%26#39;s doorway.

If you don%26#39;t mind buying a room in a hotel whose identity is not revealed until after you%26#39;ve made the purchase, I think this Hotwire offer would be a good way to go.

I just used Priceline and bid 4**** including dupont circle and got Hotel Palomar for 90$ a night for the same days you are interested in.
