I just wanted to give everyone some feedback on my trip to Washington DC with my family. What a FANTASTIC city. I have travelled around quite a bit, but Washington really surprised me. We all loved it (kids included). We were amazed at the abundance of flowers, trees and parks and we felt so safe walking around surrounded by peole jogging, strolling and biking. Everyone was very friendly and we were so relaxed we even dared to try the underground. If you have any doubts about going there, DON%26#39;T. You will be amazed. We loved it and would definitely go there again.
One addtional piece of advice...we stayed at the Fairmont. It was a fantastic hotel in a quiet, leafy and peaceful part of town. A bit of a walk to the main monuments, but not impossible. The staff were very friendly and the rooms were lovely.
