L'Enfant Plaza Hotel

aNYONE kNOW HOW FAR THE nATIONAL MALL FROM THIS HOTAL IS?? And Is it walkable??

Also IS the metro station in the building below Open on Weekends??

L'Enfant Plaza Hotel

The metro station is directly under the building. It%26#39;s the L%26#39;Enfant Plaza Metro Station (Yellow, Blue, Orange Lines). Metro is open everyday. Holidays they run on a Sunday Schedule meaning the trains are quite slow. Saturdays they run about a little slow but not bad. Check out www.wmata.com for more information on metro.

-You could definitely walk to the mall from L%26#39;Enfant Plaza hotel. It%26#39;s sort of uphill however so it may seem like it takes forever.

-You are right near the Bureau of Engraving, The Holocaust Museum, National Air %26amp; Space Museum. Then just a little bit up either 12th Street or 7th Street, you will find the other museums as you bypass the monument and the ';mall area';.

Did you have any other questions about your hotel selection and the area?

L'Enfant Plaza Hotel

This is one of the closest hotels to the National Mall. The only problem is that there aren%26#39;t many dining options nearby, but the convenience of the metro should alleviate that.

Def looking for nightlife options. With the access to the metro We can go anywhere I assume, and My iance went to American So I%26#39;m sure she knows some places.

How long will it take from Reagan Airport on the Metro??

Wait for a Yellow Line train (not blue), then it%26#39;s about 15 minutes by subway from Reagan airport to L%26#39;Enfant metro stop.

You%26#39;ll definately want to take Metro to your meals: Eastern Market, Gallery Place, and U st. are all good Metro stations for eating. If you don%26#39;t mind changing lines, then the Dupont stop is also good.

There aren%26#39;t many options for nightlife near your hotel. You will have to use metro and/ or taxi. Metro closes at 3 am on Friday and Saturday nights so if you plant to be out later than that use a taxi.

Depending on what type of atmosphere you like, you might like for nightlife and dining:

-Dupont Circle

-Georgetown (not metro accessible)

-Adams Morgan

-Downtown/Chinatown/Penn Quarter

If your fiance went to American Univ., should know the best places for your liking.

Hope this is helpful.

The L%26#39;Enfant Plaza is in ';the Dead Zone.'; Nothing happens down there weekends or evenings. The entire shopping mall is closed, except for the McDonalds. But at least the Metro station entrance is open. It%26#39;s a good thing your fiancee went to AU - she can guide you outta there!
