I have read various rumors here that you can take turns touring the White House if one person in your party stays back with your cameras, purses, etc.
Has anyone experienced this first-hand?
If so, where did you wait while the other person(s) went through the tour? How long did it take? etc.
Thanks!
White House Tour
anyone????
White House Tour
We did the tour about a month ago. I would assume it wouldnt be a problem to have one person stay back while the others go through. The big thing about doing this is you have to make sure you give yourself time to get back to where you started the tour. Since the tour starts at the side door and ends at the back door, give yourself some time to get back to the start. The tour itself might take you forty five minutes or so. It is a self guided tour with secret service agents in rooms to answer questions. I wasnt too impressed with the tour but it is a must do if your in Washington.
Thanks!
I was wondering if anyone would ever respond to this post...
Probably because nobody%26#39;s tried that tactic! :-) Most simply leave their cameras and backpacks elsewhere!

Any suggestions where t leave cameras? Are there lockers close by (I really can%26#39;t see that - too much of a security risk).
Also, what items can you take in and what items do ou have to leave?
Natanya - you really can%26#39;t take anything in. When we went, I simply had my husband slip my ID into his wallet and away we went. No lockers anywhere for storage. We did the White House tour in the morning and actually had a tour of the Pentagon in the afernoon. We couldn%26#39;t carry anything into the Pentagon either, so we just ended up purchasing a disposable camera once we were inside the Pentagon.
