Somewhere in my memory I remembering reading something about there being no White House tours in December. Our congressman%26#39;s assistant has our request for a White House tour but I am wondering if there if it%26#39;s even worth getting our hopes up. Am I confused or am i correct in remembering there are not White House tours in late December?

What about the Candlelight Whitehouse tour that is supposed to be available after Christmas? Does anyone know when that is or how tickets are obtained?
This is the first I%26#39;ve heard about those tours. Where did you find that info? Perhaps that source might have some leads.
Eyewitness Guide to Washington DC mentions it in their ';What to do in December'; section. It says that White House tours are not available at Christmas except after Christmas for a few days when it is opened up for Candlelight tours.
I%26#39;ll bet that passage was written prior to 9/11. They don%26#39;t let you bring any flammable objects into the White House anymore, including cigarette lighters and candles.!
Honestly, almost all editions of guidebooks for DC are post 9/11 simply because they had to update because of all the drastic security changes. I saw this book yesterday at Barnes and Noble and it seemed to be a very updated version. Now, that does not mean that some old information didn%26#39;t slip past the editing desk! I do think you could have a candlelight tour where the White House itself displayed candles throughout and visitors have nothing to do with the candles. Just a thought. I really wish there was something to this. Maybe I%26#39;ll ask my congressman%26#39;s office. I%26#39;ll let you know if I hear anything.
