Visiting Washington

I will be in Washington for half a day, arriving at Dulles International Airport together with other 4 friends. We wil have a long 6 hour waiting connection.

Is there any service that could take us for a fast visit in Washington DC?

Wouldn%26#39;t count on it.

Only here for a 6 hour wait, a cab could take you to DC but then you would still want to be back at least 2 hours before the flight.

And you also have to take into consideration that if you are coming during the week during our ';Rush HOur'; period, this will delay your journey. You could just maybe take the bus into Tysons Corner shopping Center. Pretty nice upscale mall with lots of shopping, dining, etc.

Maybe on a Sunday that would work. There is never any traffic on Sunday%26#39;s. The cab can get you there in no time. You should probably stay for about 3 hours and then try to head back (if that%26#39;s worth it for you).

Most convenient and fastest way to see everything would be to do the Tourmobile Bus Tour or Old Town Trolley. That way you can see all of the area and don%26#39;t have to kill time walking the entire way.

Or the Old Town Trolley Tours (www.oldtowntrolley.com) Just as soon as the tour is over get a cab and head back.

With 5 people splitting the cost, you may want to do a private limo tour. Maybe they%26#39;ll pick you up at the airport, drive you around DC, let you out for a few photos or a few minutes at some key spots - (like the Lincoln Memorial, Vietnman Vets, White House) and then take you back to the airport. Check www.restonlimo.com. It%26#39;s the only one I know of (I%26#39;ve seen them around), but I%26#39;m sure there are other services if you look around online.
