Need a Great Hotel for Anniversary / Something Extra

Going to be in DC for Thanksgiving and my girlfriend and I%26#39;s 1-year anniversary is that sunday after. I%26#39;m looking for a luxurious place to stay and surprise her. Proximity to any DC attractions is NOT a priority as we%26#39;ve done these things before.

Also would like to do something extra (spa, something unique) but keep it to the hotel as not to have a lot of hassle moving around. The Mandarin Oriental has a nice Spa package but it creeps up towards one thousand dollars. Seems a little excessive for one night, but I am willing to go to the 5-600 dollar range for something great.

Anybody with any ideas or experience with nice hotels in the area or other things to do please let me know, thanks for your help!

Some places to look:

The Kimpton Hotel group - I think they may all offer spa services, but I%26#39;m not sure. Check their website for more info on each hotel.

The Watergate Hotel - My husband and I had a massage there a few years ago and it was quite nice.

The Four Seasons or the Ritz - I%26#39;d guess they offer a spa package, but can%26#39;t say for sure. Worth looking into.

Good luck!

While not in DC, you might be able to get a better price from the Ritz Carlton in Tysons Corner or Pentagon City.

In DC, I would second the recommendation of the Kimpton Group properties. Check out the Hotel Monaco.

Also, you might look into the Fairmont. It is the choice of numerous heads of states when visiting Washington.

Such a difficult decision, thank you for your quick responses. I%26#39;ve been looking around at all your recommendations and then some. The Klimptons do have a nice style (we%26#39;re young, 20%26#39;s), unfortunately they don%26#39;t always offer their packages / spa services, seemed hit or miss at each hotel. But definitely still an option.

What I was surprised to find was a pretty nice package at the Willard, around 500 for a room and couples massage, any opinions about this? Any hotel with a spa or large bath tub would be great as well.

Thanks again!
