I%26#39;m very confused on how to get from BWI airport to Union Station, DC metro stop......It looks like there is a MARC train that will take us from Camden station to Union station, but how to get to Camden station is my question.....thanks for any info.
BWI to Union station
You don%26#39;t have to go to the Camden Station. You are on the Camden Line. The station you want is the BWI station. Which is about 1 mile from the airport. There is a shuttle that comes from the train station to BWI call to find out the schedule.
The MARC rail only runs M-F
When you get on the train heading to DC, it%26#39;s 5 stops until Union Station. You will be dropped off at Union Station (the only station in DC).
BWI to Union station
As the previous poster mentioned, MARC only runs Monday - Friday. If you are arriving on a weekend, you can take Amtrak to Union Station. Take the same shuttle from the airport to the train station.
Thank You, we arrive on a Wed. about 11:00 am, and leave on a mon. about 10:00 am, i%26#39;ll call BWI to find out the shuttle schedule. When we get to Union station is there other subways to catch to get to Crystal city?
Get on the metro train at Union Station downstairs toward Shady Grove or Grosevnor. Then transfer at Gallery Place Chinatown and go downstairs to the Yellow Line Train to Huntington. This will take you to the Crystal City Metro Stop or the surrounding stations on the Yellow/Blue Line. The yellow line is faster than the blue line.
Thank you so much!!!!!!

MrsMaryland - It%26#39;s the Penn line that goes to BWI. It won%26#39;t matter on the way in, as the only MARC Train that comes to BWI is the Penn. But if vjtraveler takes MARC back to BWI from Union Station it%26#39;s important to get on a PENN line train, not Camden. Camden will go to downtown Baltimore and not to the BWI station at all.
vjtraverler - If you haven%26#39;t already done so, there%26#39;s no real need to contact BWI for the shuttle information. The shuttles to the railway station operate on a continous loop just like those going to the parking lots and the rental car lots. Just leave the baggage claim area on the lower level and look for the signs for the shuttle, they run every 10-15 minutes and are clearly marked on the front.
Well, thank you for clarifying that. :-)
Thank you Irishfan...I knew we needed a MARC train to union station, so leaving Union station we need to take the Penn line. to BWI .is this also a MARC train? I had just planned on asking people to get to the shuttle and making sure we got on the MARC train, is it fairly obvious?

Either direction it shouldn%26#39;t be a problem (I%26#39;m not sure which direction of your trip your%26#39;re asking about!)
BWI - Union Station: Just leave baggage claim, go outside and follow the signs. Fairly large shuttle bus (red?) will either be labeled on the front for various parking lots or rental car depot. You want the one labeled for ';Amtrak station'; or ';Train Station'; I can%26#39;t recall which but it will be a no-brainer I promise! Once at the station it%26#39;s small, just get your ticket and go across the pedestrian bridge to the southbound tracks. They will announce the train as ';MARC'; versus Amtrak and you can always ask others on the platform. As long as you get on a southbound (DC bound) train you can%26#39;t go wrong from BWI they all go to Union Station.
Union Station - BWI: Just be a bit more careful here that you%26#39;re on a Penn line train! Speaking from experience, it IS possible to get on a train headed for West Virginia! (I%26#39;m embarassd to admit I did this once!) There are 3 MARC lines from Union Station, just make sure you get to the right track for a Penn line train and ask before you get on to make sure it%26#39;s a Penn line. Heck, ask someone once more AFTER you get on, it can%26#39;t hurt! :)
